Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine)
When Is It Prescribed?
Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) is prescribed
to treat:
- Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
(ADHD)
- Narcolepsy (recurrent spells of
uncontrollable drowsiness and sleep)
This medication may also be prescribed for
purposes other than what's listed above.
When Will My Medication Start to Work?
You may feel better after taking Dexedrine (dextraoamphetamine)
for just a few days, although it usually takes about three to four
weeks to feel the full effects.
Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) is habit
forming. You can become physically and psychologically dependent on
this medication and withdrawal effects may occur if you stop taking
it suddenly after several weeks of continuous use. Talk to your
doctor or therapist before stopping this medication.
Never take more of theis medication than is
prescribed for you. Too much Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) could be
very dangerous to your health.
Are there Any Drug Interactions?
Always follow your physician's
recommendations on how to take your medication. If you are taking
any other prescription medications, herbal remedies, vitamins,
and/or over-the-counter medications, be sure to tell your physician.
